The graph of (x+3)^(6/7) is increasing/decreasing over what interval?

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Okay wait I got it, but what about concave up and concave down?:O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you are familiar with calculus you can use the second derivative to find the points of concavity. Then evaluate the second derivative at points before and after the points of concavity to see what the solution is. If the solution is negative the function is concave down at that point. If it is positive it is concave up
