In weight-training, rest days are just as important as workout days. Muscles recover and grow during the rest periods. When your muscles repair themselves after training, they become slightly stronger than before, which leads to further growth if you continue your work-rest schedule. And so your options remain the same: alternate arms and legs every other day or do a full-body with a day off in-between. If you choose the second option, work to maintain your interest on cardio days. You could alternate among several machines (elliptical, treadmill, bike, rower), or perform interval training on a schedule, or exercise outdoors instead of at the gym for a change of scene.
