how can you write the expression = -6 + 7 k?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

\(-6 + 7k\) can't be simplified further. The terms -6 and 7k are not like terms, so they can't be combined. The only thing you can do with it is to write it as \(7k - 6\)
