simplify 2x^2-13x+15/x^2-25

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

both of these you are able to factor out; when you factor 2x^2-13+15, what values do you get? Same with x^2-25?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x^2 - 13x + 15 2x^2 -10x - 3x + 15 2x (x - 5) -3 (x - 5) (2x - 3) (x - 5) x^2 - 25 => (x + 5) (x - 5) so now equation can be rewritten as (2x - 3) (x - 5) / ( (x + 5) (x - 5) Eliminating (x - 5) in both Numerator and Denominator we get 2x - 3 / x + 5
