How would I cite this? A chart made by Melissa Boteach, the director of the Poverty to Prosperity Program, indicates that the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program kept 3.9 million people out of poverty, while Tax Credit and Unemployment Insurance kept an extra 8 million out of poverty. I gave credit to the person who made the chart in the sentence, so how would I go about this? Just put the citation in my work cited and leave as is?
I would do it like this: Summary or quotation you're using (Boteach as cited in [secondary source]). Then I would try to include BOTH the secondary source and the original source by Melissa Boteach that is cited in the bibliography. It looks thorough that way and shows that you don't take sources on face value.
