OpenStudy (nincompoop):

solve for what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

do you have an idea how to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

quadratic formula \[x=\frac{ -b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{ 2a }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

try factoring out the x in the left half

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2+4sqrt 2/3

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

there are different ways to solve for x in a quadratic equation. a) factoring b) completing the square c) AC-method d) using quadratic formula do you need to go over any of these methods, @allie_bear22

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

then how come you weren't able to solve the problem you posted?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need my answer checked

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

interesting ... why do you need it checked when you can just plug the values of the x you have and if it gave you 0, then it is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

guess i was right

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

I wouldn't know... where is your worked out solution?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

you can arrive at a correct answer with wrong solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is an app called wolfram alpha, the price is 2.99, but it will solve any problem you put into it.... Great way to check your answer...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It will give you the derivative, indefinate integral, definite integral, series expansion, and graph just about every thing you put into it... Pretty cool...

Wolf ram is definately your friend lawl
