Please Help :(
I marked up the diagram with the given information. I added green angle numbers. The marked up diagram is attached. So, look at it. In my next post, I want to give a summary of how the proof goes so that you will have some understanding of how the steps go together. After that, we will choose the answer to the question, the next step in the proof.
Thank you so much
Informal Proof Summary: Angles 1 and 2 form a right angle. We know this because of the two lines that were given to be perpendicular. Perpendicular lines form right angles. Right angles have a measure of 90. So, the angle EGB that angles 1 and 2 together form - that angle has measure 90. That means that angles 1 and 2 sum to 90. When two angles sum to 90, they are called complementary angles. Angles 2 and 3 are vertical angles. Vertical angles are congruent. So, angle 2 and angle 3 have the same measure. From above, we know --> angles 1 and 2 sum to 90. So, angles 1 and 3 sum to 90 because angle 2 is the same size as angle 3 so we can just substitute one for the other. All this makes more sense if you look at the marked-up diagram.
The given partial proof stops after stating that what we called angles 1 and 2 are complementary.
So, what comes next is to enter information about the vertical angles. Which option is that?
@snow1434 Post what you think is the correct option, and we can compare answers, okay?
