Zen wants to fill a window box with soil. The length of the window box is 5 feet, width is 6 inches, and height is 9 inches. Each bag of soil contains 0.625 cubic foot of soil. How many bags of soil will Zen need to fill the window box completely?

I think the answer is 36.

Volume of the planter divided by volume of 1 bag

OpenStudy (phi):

I would change all the measurements into "feet" and then multiply length* width * height to get the volume in cubic feet divide that by 0.625 to get the number of bags. What do you get for the measurements of the planter, when converted to feet?

OpenStudy (phi):

btw, the answer is NOT 36
