Check my work?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A function is shown below: f(x) = (1.07)x What does the function represent? Exponential growth of 7% Exponential decay of 7% Exponential growth of 93% Exponential decay of 93% I know the answer is either A or C but I don't know for sure.

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

in general \[f(x) = (1 \pm r)^{x}\] r is growth/decay rate "+r" means growth "-r" means decay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But do you subtract 1 - 0.07 to get 93% or do you just get 7%?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

i tell you in my post 1.07 = 1 + .07 "+" --> growth r = .07 = 7%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that if the number in the parenthesis is over one than it is growth, but if it is lower than 1 it is a decay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the answer would be A?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

correct
