the measure of one angle is 20 degrees more than two-thirds the measure of its supplement what is the measure of the two angles?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

let x = the supplement then the other angle is 2/3 x + 20 so you know the angles are supplementary... which means they add to 180 so then you have \[x + \frac{2}{3} x + 20 = 180\] collect like terms and solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=96?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

that correct, the supplement is 96 so the other angle is 2/3 * 96 + 20 or 180 - 96 hope it makes sense

definitely thank you so much!!!! i appreciate it!!!!!
