Travis buys $12.45 worth of gas for his car. if the gas station charges $1.519 per gallon, how many gallons did he get? (round to the nearest tenth)

12.45 / 1.519 =
The nearest tenth of $1.519 is $1.52 and the nearest tenth of $12.45 is $12.50. If you divide $12.50 by $1.52 you would get your answer.
You would still have to round to the nearest tenth though.
12.50/1.52=8.22. The nearest tenth is 8.20

You didnt even have to round the first two number and you wouldve gotten the same answer
12.45=1.519=8.196 which round up to 8.2 as well
