The trail is 2016 miles long. It begins in city A and ends in city B. Manfred has hiked 3/8 of the trail before. how many miles has he hiked?

OpenStudy (phi):

you need to find 3/8 of 2016 that means \[ \frac{3}{8} \cdot 2016\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is one long trail

Thank you I was not sure what method to use.. times, or what. and i Agree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10644480 feet :o

OpenStudy (phi):

you could try to figure it out by saying. let's use smaller and easier numbers: say the trail was 10 miles long and he hiked 1/2 of it. You know the answer should be 5 to get 5 you would do 1/2 * 10 so multiply the fraction times the length of the trail... use that same idea on your real problem 3/8 * 2016

thank youu
