By understanding and contorting the law Hitler achieved sole political control and completely reorganized the German judiciary, all while under a blanket of legitimacy. Germany was severely handicapped after it’s defeat in World War I. Because of this many will argue that the Weimar Republic was doomed from the start, and the resulting sentiments gave Hitler fertile soil for his totalitarian government.
