What is the slope of a line parallel to the line whose equation is 5x + 3y = 15?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lines which are parallel have equal slopes. So find the slope of this line and the slope of the parallel line will be the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the slope of5x + 3y = 15 by putting it in slope -intercept form y = mx + b Do this by solving for y First subtract 5x from both sides 3y = -5x + 15 Then divide both sides by 3 y = -5x/3 + 5 so from this we see that the slope of the line is -5/3 so slope of the parallel line is also -5/3
