adjacent lengths are given to be equal 2x+5 = x+12 can you find x from here ?
x=7?
yes! good :) now from y-4 = x+5 you will also get value of y :)
Since the sides are equal We know that 2x + 5 = x + 12 and y -4 = x+ 5 Using the first equation solve for x Subtracting x from both sides and subtracting 5 from both sides x = 7 Now using x = 7 in the 2nd equation y - 4 = 7 + 5 = 12 so adding 4 to both sides y = 16 so the sides are 19, 19 ,12, 12 |dw:1386690018584:dw|
