If hexagon IJKLMN is dilated by a scale factor of two fifths from the origin to create hexagon I'J'K'L'M'N', what is the ordered pair of point L'? (I tried and didn't get none of the right answers

OpenStudy (ranga):

You multiply both the x and y coordinates of L by the scale factor, 2/5, to get L'.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did and I got 3 for x and 9 for y when the real answer either has to be(-0.4, 0.8) (-5, 15) (-0.8, 2.4) (-2.5, 5)

OpenStudy (ranga):

What are the original coordinates of the hexagon IJKLMN? Can you attach the diagram?

OpenStudy (ranga):

If you read the coordinates of L from the graph you can see it is -1 along x axis and +2 along y axis. L is (-1, 2) Scale factor is 2/5. Multiply each coordinate by 2/5 to get L'" L' is (-1 * 2/5, 2 * 2/5) = (-2/5, 4/5) = (-0.4, 0.8)

I'm just confused and need and explaination on what to do so I don't make another mistake.

Thank you it means alot
