What is the area of this SAS triangle rounded to the nearest tenth? Photo included.

Now originally i thought the formula to this was 1/2*a*b*sinC but when i plug in the values none of my answer choices suit the part.

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

I do think that is the correct formula, though... May I ask what your answer choices are? When I work this through, I get 8.146801133.

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

8.1 is one of them :) I dont know where i went from, but i kept ending up with -7 =.=

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

Your calculator isn't possibly in radians, is it? Because that would give a negative sine for 54... xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

area = 1/2) a b sinC. you must be getting a negative value for sinC, perhaps evaluating radians rather than degrees.

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Yep, thats the problem. Thanks very much guys :~)

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

You're welcome. :)
