The label on the car's antifreeze container claims to protect the car between −40°C and 125°C. To convert Celsius temperature to Fahrenheit temperature, the formula is C = 5 over 9 (F − 32). Write and solve the inequality to determine the Fahrenheit temperature range at which this antifreeze protects the car. −40 > 5 over 9 (F − 32) > 125; −40 > F > 257 −40 < 5 over 9 (F − 32) < 125; −40 < F < 257 −40 < 5 over 9 (F − 32); −40 < F 5 over 9 (F − 32) < 125; F < 257
which one are you leaning towards?
Honestly I have no idea on this question. I know I got the others right but I am stuck on this one
I thought maybe the 1st one but I still don't think that's right
logically, if one range is between 2 values, the equivalent cannot be outside those same values. so it is not the first one
Okay
following that same line of thought; the equivalent has to be between 2 values, and not be openended right?
Yeah. Is it the third one?
is the third one openended?
By open-ended do you mean ending with a number like this <257 So if that's what you mean then it would have to be B or D
yes, by openended i mean that it is missing a limiting point on both sides. <----a b---> open at both ends a <----------------> b closed on both ends <---------------- b open ended a ---------------> open ended
i would say that options A and B have the best chance to be closed; but option A is actually open at both ends so its out
Okay. Which do you think it is? I will just guess out of B C or D if you don't have a certain idea
You there?
