I see this problem as being one involving ratios. Here you have two ratios which are equal to each other. In this sort of situation, we can cross multiply to eliminate the fractions/ratios. Cross multiply (x-2) and 3 to obtain 3x-6; cross multiply 2 and (x-1) to obtain 2x-2. Now set these two products equal to each other. Solve the resulting equation (which is a simple polynomial) for x. x = ?
