The Autonomic system is used for involuntary control. This includes innervation to sweat glands, smooth muscle (eg. to dilate and contrict blood flow), and even glands. The autonomic system is split into the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic systems that pretty much do opposing action. Someone correctly said that the Sympathetic is generally Fight/flight responses and the Parasympathetic is rest and recover. The Somatic system, is responisble for everything volunatry. This includes moving your limbs, talking... everything you choose to do.
