What is the range of possible values for x?? I really don't understand this..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Question please :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DemolisionWolf

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the question is asking what are all thepossible values for x inorder for the triangles to stay 'true' this is a tricky one.. give me a second ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha, alright !! Thank youuu.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the name of the section in you book this question came out of?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's online school...The section is inequalities in triangles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k thanks..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:( i'm not getting very far, lemme recruit some others to help ^_^

@agent0smith @shamil98 @Isaiah.Feynman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have another question? Want me to post another one in a minute and if you guys get stuck I can re-call my teacher?

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Wait...I can't remember this fully. Sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Isaiah.Feynman no worries, I know ur a smart guy still

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Isn't angle CBD and ABD supplementary?..

OpenStudy (shamil98):

you know that <CBD + <ABD = <ABC 4 sided parallelogram = 360 degrees total.. that's the given, i'm not sure how to solve for x, my geometry is rusty as well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mine is real rusty too!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just can't figure out how the given angle and the other angles are related so I don't know how to solve... Want me to post a different one?:D

OpenStudy (shamil98):

i think i got it.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

from triangle ABD, one of the angles is 58 180 - 58 = 122 Angle A = 5x +3 ( opposite interior angles ) angle A is between zero and 122 so 0 < 5x +3 < 122 -3 < 5x < 119 -3/5 < x < 23.8

OpenStudy (shamil98):

what are your answer choices? @hellofiona

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's an open answer, I have to show the steps and all.
