Did they give you an area for the garden? It seems like something is missing from the question. Do you think they just want you to pick two numbers like 12.2 and 12.4 for the two sides? If it's a rectangular garden, then two parallel sides would be 12.2 and the other two parallel sides would be 12.4. Then you could say that the garden is 12.2 (feet or meters) x 12.4 (feet or meters). I'm not sure what units they gave you.
