You are asked to look for any points of discontinuity. They are like holes in the graph. This occurs where the denominator becomes zero. 2x^2 - 18 = 0 2x^2 = 18 x^2 = 9 x = +3 or -3. So when x = 3 and x = -3, there would be point discontinuities in the graph.
