vectors: question below: how will i find "q"??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know how to find the vertex C, but how will i find the value of q on the coordinates of D (3,q,8) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64 @ybarrap @Hero

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, it IS a rectangle

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i would move it so A is at the origin ... then I could better evaluate the rectanglness of it all

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-1,2,3 2,6,-9 3,q,8 1-2-3 1-2-3 1-2-3 --------------------- 0,0,0 3,4,-12 4,p,5

OpenStudy (amistre64):

AB is perp tp AD 3,4,-12 * 4,p,5 = 0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

12+4p-60 = 0 solve for p, and since q-2 = p ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i followed what you did, for p i got 12 so q-2=12, q=14? oh ok, i got it! thanks again :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yay!! :)
