Factor x^2+3x+cx+3c

hero (hero):

Factor x from x^2 + 3x to get x(x + 3) Factor c from cx + 3c to get c(x + 3) Observe that x^2 + 3x + cx + 3c factors to x(x + 3) + c(x + 3) Also observe that x + 3 is common to both factorizations. Therefore: x^2 + 3x + cx + 3c = x(x + 3) + c(x + 3) = (x + 3)(x + c)
