MEDAL AND FAN Solve for x. 16x - 5 = 18x - 2 step by step

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

You know Lagrangian mechanics and I don't....so :P

OpenStudy (compassionate):

16x - 5 = 18x - 2 Okay, we always solve so that x is positive. So subtract 16x. -5 = 2x - 2 Add 2. -3 = 2x Divide by 2 -3/2 = x

weird. that is exactly my answer... but she marked it wrong D:

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Ever seen a teacher schooled by a student?

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Call her a big fat liar and demand an A+.

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Oh that a little harsh... girlbyte give her a little schooling in a gentle manner!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm. Thanks for the answer @Compassionate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

... this might be hard to believe but she said the answer is wrong and internet is an unreliable source for education DDDDDDDDDDDD:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

In a sense the internet is unreliable as everything on it is not entirely true. But tell her to prove the answer is wrong...this is maths prove it!
