OpenStudy (kkrpbra):

Can someone explain to me what slope is .

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

So basically the slope is the rate at which a line on a graph raises or decends.

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

Do u understand that much

OpenStudy (kkrpbra):

yeah @jojo4eva

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

ok so give me your understanding of it. And then do u kno the formula in order to find the slope

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

Slope - A number that describes both the direction and the steepness of the line. Slope is often denoted by the letter m.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Slope is a surface of which one end or side is at a higher level than another; a rising or falling surface, for example Find the slope of the line segment joining the points ( 1, - 4 ) and ( - 4, 2 ). Label the points as x1 = 1, y1 = - 4, x2 = -4, and y2 = 2. To find the slope m of the line segment joining the points, use the slope formula : So, m = - 6/5.
