HELP! In your own words, explain how to find the degree of a polynomial.

The degree of a polynomial is the value of the highest exponent that any given term in the polynomial has.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The degree of a polynomial is equal to the highest power of x found in the polynomial. ie. y = x^3 is of degree 3. y = x^3 + x^2 + x + 1 is still of third degree y = x - 1 is first degree.
