parallelogram problem !!! :)

OpenStudy (praxer):

a= 2i^-3j^+k^ b=-i^+k^ c= 2j^-k^ find the are of the parallelogram having diagonals a+b and b+c...

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

hint : magnitude of cross product

OpenStudy (praxer):

but can it be that the side a be equal to the side b because if we draw and take the a to be the left side and b to the top and and bottom side and c to be the right than only it fall into the requirements but a is not equal to c.. So,, i am confused...

OpenStudy (praxer):

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

i need to go now, il tag an expert @ikram002p plese save us

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

nw u oly need to find the cross product as ganesh said

OpenStudy (praxer):

which mean that the sides a and c are similar and are equal and opposite but can it be....

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

well ,r u sure from the vectors ??

OpenStudy (praxer):

yup I am sure.

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

ok lets think of onther way lets find a+b b+c

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

ok we have a+b= i-3j+2k b+c=-i+2j

OpenStudy (praxer):

ya..

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

but u can shift them to make them as diagonal |dw:1386777201791:dw|

OpenStudy (praxer):

followed.

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

nw consider the properties of the parallelogram diagonals they bisect each other
