Easy Medal Which pair of terms is a pair of like terms? g^2h and gh^2 3g and 3h g^4 and h^4 4g^2 and 9g^2

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

Like terms means that the only difference is the coefficient (the part that isn't a variable or part of an exponent)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

g^4 and h^4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i kinda figured it was B but thanks but why would it be C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

may u help me with another

OpenStudy (anonymous):

becouse 4 and 9 arent the same all varibles sand as one so if the bouth sand as on then they both say 1^4

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

I was thinking of D ----> http://www.mathsisfun.com/algebra/like-terms.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

Yeah, B and C are both wrong...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Combine the like terms to simplify the expression: 8x^3 – 2x^2 + x + 3x^3 (Points : 1) 10x^3 8x^3– 2x^2+ x + 3x^3 (the expression cannot be simplified) 11x^6– 2x^2+ x 11x^3– 2x^2+ x

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

The like terms are 8x³ and 3x³.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can simplfiy totaly but you can brek it down some tobring 8x^3 and #x^3 which is 11x^3 you cant put the orther together so just level them so its 11x^3-2x^2+x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

m confused about the first one so is the answer not C nor D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

The answer to the first one is D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thats what i had at first but when u said C just made me second guess so how do i do the second 1

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

To combine like terms, find all of the like terms, then add up the coefficients

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yur first on is C but yur second question is D my bad i wasnt lookin coles it cant be D on the first one cuz there not the same but i explain the secon one in comment aleady

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so wait the first one is C and the second is D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because everyone else said the first one was D i am so confused

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

The first one is D, the second one is also D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its D for the first one im carzy you got to compair like trems and whith that it dnt mater the first number long as the second part is rght sorry im just tiping and not fully reading :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

DDcamp rght i had to look twice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you to u all may we all give ribbons 2 each other
