difference between hydration and hydrolisis in points

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hydration is adding water, usually with an acid and/or mercuric ion catalyst. Dehydration is reacting with a concentrated strong acid with some heat. Hydrolysis separates water specifically into hydrogen and oxygen. The reverse is just letting them react again in the same container since hydrolysis requires separating them into entirely separate containers.
