When is it ethical to use technologies to make human lives better and when should such technologies not be used?

Maybe think of technologies well have now, and think what would happen if we improved then?

Okay, when should technology not be used? its confusing me a little

OpenStudy (istim):

We could talk consumer technologies, tracking (spy) technologies, biochemical technologies, genetic technologies. If we invented it, its a technology of some sort.

OpenStudy (istim):

For example. the man who invented the gun won a Nobel Peace Prize. It 'would have saved many lives". Or what about Nuclear technologies? Great for energy, for medical products, but hoo-boy, when that great big devastation came in WW2, were we surprised.
