Sally enjoys listening to jazz and downloads music regularly from the internet. She already has two hours of jazz in her collection. From the second month onwards, the number of hours of jazz music she downloads each month is eight percent greater than the number of hours of jazz music she had downloaded the previous month. Which function best shows the total number of hours of jazz music Sally has in her collection f(x) after x months?

f(x) = (1.08)x + 1

f(x) = 2(1.08)x

f(x) = (1.08)x + 2

f(x) = (1.08)x - 1

It might help if you write out what the first few months look like and check each equation.

I'll try and actually pick out the equation though as guessing is never fun

Hmmm…I believe it's f(x) = (1.08)x + 2

I thought so too. it accounts for the 2 hours and has the 1.08x detailed in the question.
