OpenStudy (tanya123):

can you help with smilies or imagery poems?

OpenStudy (tester97):

umm sure i guess

OpenStudy (tanya123):

thanks ! Write two original 'similes' (avoid cliches such as 'sly like a fox.')

OpenStudy (tester97):

1. Your skin is as smooth as a baby's bottom :) 2. Im as hot as grease in a frying pan.

OpenStudy (tanya123):

did you wrote this like right now?

OpenStudy (tester97):

yup

OpenStudy (tanya123):

wow your fast in thinking ! ok but can you tell me the difference between a simile with a clinche and one without one

OpenStudy (tester97):

oh wait i just realized those sound cliche. here try these: 1. The fur on that dog is as dark as my house in the woods at night time. 2. Your shirt is as bright as the sun in the middle of the day. a simile with a cliche is something that everyone knows and that is very common to say for example the smooth as a baby's bottom is a cliche.

OpenStudy (tanya123):

ok, I also thought that one difference could be that clichés are short and originals are long right?

OpenStudy (tanya123):
