Katherine purchased a $40 music card, which allowed her to pay $1.00 per download. If x represents the number of songs she downloaded and y represents the total amount she spent, which table illustrates this scenario?

I fail to understand why you have to pay per download even after buying a 40$ card, but the answer that makes the most sense here is 3. You paid a base of 40$ and for each download afterwards you pay one dollar extra, which means that all you do is add 40$ to however much you spent on downloading (which is 1$ y for every 1 x)

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

the equation for this would be y=x+40 so which ever table fits this equation is correct.

So Chart 3?

Can y'all help me on another one?

What is the slope of this chart Zero, Undefined, negative or postive?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Zero

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you move from one x value to the next, there was absolutely no change in the y value, meaning that graphically, the function is a horizontal like at y=-10. X does not affect the y value in any way and thus the slope is 0.
