The parents already made their decision once, why would Romeo or Juliet tell their parents the truth? All that would cause is the parents would probably make it even harder for them to see each other.

IMO, If Romeo and Juliet told someone that they were married right away then it could have saved Tybalt and Mercutio's life. The feud may have been ended also. But MAYBE, their parents were the ones who will kill them XD..
