Which of the following explains why children must be vaccinated for communicable diseases, like measles? They are typically exposed to less pathogens than adults. The immunity they receive in the womb from their mother is temporary. They lack an immune system at such a young age. The antibiotics used to treat infections cause too many side effects in children.

C. Many children haven't been exposed to the diseases that adults have, giving them a vaccine gives them a chance to become immune to it before they get it.
