whats the technology they used in the Mongol empire and roman republic?
There's a lot of tech that was used by both powers. The Romans had a number of unique weapons especially built for war. The gladius was the preferred sword -- it was a short sword but it enabled the user to use it in close combat with a shield. They also had ballista -- imagine a crossbow big enough to be pulled by horses -- that they used in siege warfare. Paved roads, as funny as that may sound, were also a big technological edge for the Romans as they allowed them to move armies and material from one end of the empire to the next easily. As for the Mongols, they developed a precursor to the modern postal service with relayed messages on horseback that was extremely reliable. But perhaps the biggest edge they had was the use of a type of short, recurve bow that was better than anything that anyone had at the time. Add that to the extremely advanced cavalry tactics they used with their horses, and you had a mobile force capable of destroying anything slower than itself...which included most of their enemies. It was like the medieval equivalent to modern mobile infantry using vehicles and which few had any real defense against other than hiding in their cities. And the Mongols had ways to crack them open to get inside, too.
thank you so much
