What was the significance of Howard Carter's discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb? A. Tutankhamen's tomb contained written descriptions of the embalming process. B. Tutankhamen's tomb contained carvings that illustrated the method the Egyptians used to build the pyramids. C. Artifacts found in Tutankhamen's tomb showed for the first time that ancient Egyptians liked to adorn themselves with jewelry. D. Tutankhamen's tomb was the first royal tomb in modern times to be found intact with new information for archaeologists.
I'd definitely go with (D), that it was the first intact royal tomb found. As weird as that may sound, up until then, no one had found a royal tomb filled with treasures and an intact mummy still in its sarcophagus the way that Tutankhamen's was. Pretty much every tomb they had found had already been robbed or was simply empty without as much to go on as King Tut's was.
