HELP!!! Find the domain of the function f of x equals the cube root of the quantity x plus three, minus one.
A. x ≥ 0 B. All Real Numbers C. x ≥ 1 D. x > 0
B. all real number
Thanks!!!
What about this? Given a = 2, b = -2, and k = 3, what is the equation of the graph if the parent function is y equals the square root of x?
A. y equals two times the square root of 2x, plus 3 B. y equals negative two times the square root of 2x, plus 3 C. y equals two times the square root of negative 2x, minus 3 D. y equals two times the square root of negative 2x, plus 3
you need to specify what the meaning of of those constants are
What do you mean?
thats all that they gave me!
is it something like: y = a sqrt(bx) + k? because as far as I can tell, the position of the constants can change
So… what would it be?
the question is ambiguous. I don't know the answer
oh ok.. well could you help me on this? Find the range of the function f of x equals square root of the quantity twelve x plus twenty four. A. y ≤ 12 B. y ≥ 24 C. y ≤ 0 D. y ≥ 0
It's D
thanks! What about this? For the parent function y equals the square root of x, what effect does a value of b = -2 have on the graph? A. Horizontal compression by a factor of one half and a reflection across the y-axis B. Horizontal compression by a factor of one half and a reflection across the x-axis C. Horizontal compression by a factor of negative one half and a reflection across the y-axis D. Horizontal compression by a factor of negative one half and a reflection across the x-axis
Like I said, I can't answer unless i know what those constants mean
oh ya.. sorry.. For the parent function y equals the square root of x, what effect does a value of k = -3 have on the graph? A. Horizontal shift of 3 units to the right B. Horizontal shift of 3 units to the left C. Vertical shift of 3 units up D. Vertical shift of 3 units down
huhm... judging from the questions you're have posted so far, I am certain that k is the vertical shift. I'm not sure about a and b though. But the answer is D. vertical shift 3 units down.
yayyy thanks! i got a 70% but i got all the ones right that you gave me!! thank you!!!!!
That's what a young mathematician does lol
