Combine like terms to simplify the expression: 7x + 3y – 2 + 6x – 1 – y2 A. –3y3 + 13x2 – 3 B. –2y3 + 13x – 3 C. –y2 + 3y + 42x2 –3 D. –y2 + 3y + 13x – 3 Honestly I have no clue how to do this!! @wolf1728

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

7x + 3y – 2 + 6x – 1 – y² -y² +13x +3y -3 Seems the answer is D

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Do you want an explanation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes exactly what I was gonna ask for. :)

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Okay, when it says "combine like terms" it means to combine similar things. The 7x can be combined with 6x to make 13x. Imagine the 'x' means apples. 7 apples plus 6 apples equals 13 apples.
