Your skin is constantly producing new cells through cell division. How does this happen? During interphase, how does a cell prepare for division? Describe cell division, including the processes of mitosis and cytokinesis. Be sure to describe the mitotic steps. @misssunshinexxoxo
During interphase there are 3 steps G1, S, and G2. G1 is intensive cell growth, S is DNA replication, G2 is intensive cell growth again. Mitosis is Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase. During Prophase the nucleuolus breaks down and the centrioles move to each end of the cell. Metaphase the centrioles release spindle fibers and move the chromosomes to the center of the cell. Anaphase the chromosomes split and go to each side of the cell. Telophase the cleavage furrow forms and the cell starts to split. Cytoconesis is the actual process in which the cell splits
