5x^2 y times 5x^2 y

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\[5x^2 y \times 5x^2 y\]add the exponents of the like terms.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

any ideas?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Multiply each term separately if you are having trouble. 5 x 5 = x^2 * x^2 = y * y = then combine them ( they are still multiplied together, just expanded)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is either 25x^4 y^2 or 10x^4 y^2

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

5*5=25 right?
