OpenStudy (jamanorthi):

explain plz

OpenStudy (jamanorthi):

I am sorry for late replying but can any of you explain me plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so you know that the book price of book on sale is $8.96. The they took 30% off of the regular price making the price $8.96. So...you take 8.96 multiplied by 0.30. you change the 30% to 0.30 because it is 30/100 which gives you 0.30. when you multiply 8.96 by 0.30 you get 2.68. 2.68 is the amount of money taken off the regular price giving you the sale price. now u add 2.68 to 8.96 giving you the regular price making it $11.64. Does that make sense? :)

OpenStudy (jamanorthi):

yeas thanks can you plz help me make an equation to solve that problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure i can try give me a min or two to make one :)

OpenStudy (jamanorthi):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would think that it would be x=8.96(.30) making x= the regular price of the book. Does that seem like what the equation would look like when your teacher taught about these types of problems?

OpenStudy (jamanorthi):

yeah thats fine but thanks for helping i really appreciate it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your very welcome if you ever have any more question ask i can try to help

OpenStudy (jamanorthi):

okay thanks bye
