If you have two parallel lines that do not coincide (touch), zero solutions. If you have two parallel lines that coincide (one lies on top of the other), infinitely many solutions.

@mathmale according to my math teacher, two lines that coincide are the same line, so they're not considered to be parallel, according to my math teacher
