Which statement best describes how the members of a tetrad are separated during meiosis I?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tetrads are a pair of paired chromatids. They form in Prophase I of meiosis and separate in Anaphase I of the same process. If this did not happen here the final sperm or egg would have too many chromosomes in it. This would cause a major problem for the organism reproducing, sine there would be a major possibility of no fertilization at all or a major bag of birth defects.
