I'm having the biggest issue trying to understand eliminating denominators with the LCD. Wouldn't 24*8=192? Once I can figure that out, I shouldn't have any problem solving the rest.
so to find the lowest common denominator, we look at the value of each denominator 6 and 8 we then see what number they are both multiples of: so we can use a times table chart, or if you have them memorized, just write out the sequence of counting by 6's, then by 8's 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48 they both have 24 as a multiple of them remember that 24 can be broken down into 6*4 and 8*3 here is where it probably gets confusing:
