OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the discriminant of 3p^2-6p+8=0 and give the number and type of solutions to the equation.

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

Discriminant: \(D = \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}\) Where the quadratic equation is: \(ax^2 + bx + c = 0\) The degree of the polynomial is 2, and thus there HAVE to be 2 solutions unless either one or both are imaginary/complex solutions! :)
