can someone please explain meiosis in a simple way?

it's a cell division used during sexual reproduction

the result of it is four daughter cells which the number of chromosomes number from diploid (2n) to haploid (n). WIth half the number of chromosomes of the parent cell.

the production of it are sex cells or gametes such as sperms and eggs
