when is scientific knowledge changed?

OpenStudy (zale101):

If you are familiar with doing regular labs for science classes, then you're already familiar with Hypothesis, Procedure, and Conclusion. When starting to investigate an experiment, you first have to form a hypothesis in your head, which is a proposition usually made for reasoning, then you have to form a procedure, and after doing some observations and calculation you're hypothesis might be either right or wrong (That's the Conclusion). If it's wrong, the previous scientific knowledge of the subject you are trying to test will remain and if the hypothesis is right then that particular scientific knowledge of the subject will change.
